Here's why #TrapCover is the most hilarious hashtag you'll see on Twitter today

*applause*

OVER THE PAST few weeks, a disturbing phenomenon has emerged on the internet.

Yes, we are talking about white people covering Rihanna’s Work and Beyonce’s Formation, and turning them into total snoozefests.

:/

In response, the internet has gifted us something very special.

Inspired by the acoustic covers of Formation, Nathan Zed (@NathanZed) decided to perform a “trap cover” of Hey Jude.

In his words, it was “in retaliation to the white covers turning party songs into elevator music”.

And the hashtag #TrapCover was born.

Soon, there were dozens trap covers of the whitest songs ever.

Baby One More Time? Check.
